Mealmarket Exchange is in a fantastic location in the city centre with quick transport links on your doorstep to the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon and Aberdeen College, as well as near the beach, meaning you’re never more than a quick walk from the action.
Aberdeen University Students’ Union is just a short bus ride away. The Union Bar is close by. Hosting many theme nights, comedy gigs, and live music events, The Union Bar is central to the Aberdeen university experience. Students at Mealmarket Exchange love living so close to the heart of Aberdeen student living!
Next door to Mealmarket Exchange is a large Morrisons supermarket, plus a number of small shops including a 24-hour newsagent, the Ice-Cream Shop café, a fish and chip shop, Pizza Hut and an Indian grocery.
A short five-minutes’ walk into the town centre, you’ll find a range of great bars and pubs as well as many student-friendly nightclubs.
If you’re looking to stock up, head down to the Beach Boulevard Retail park where you’ll find a huge ASDA megastore and many more shops with everything you’ll need to last you through the term.
There are plenty of places to visit and unwind around Mealmarket Exchange. If you’re looking to relax after lectures or at the weekend, take a walk down to Duthie Park or head to the beach where you will find the Queens Links fairgrounds with indoor/outdoor carnival, cinema, restaurants and of course a sandy beach perfect for BBQs and chilling out with your mates.
Popular student venues Revolution and Triple Kirks are close by. Both are lively pubs which are particularly popular in the spring and summer terms as students make the most of the beer gardens.
Aside from shops and pubs, Aberdeen has a wide range of things to do, so if you fancy venturing outside of the city centre, why not take advantage of the stunning local trails? Choices include the Castle Trail, Coastal Trail, and the Victorian Heritage Trail.
Getting Active
Mealmarket Exchange is perfectly placed for those looking to get involved in sport whilst at university in Aberdeen. There are a number of gyms in the local area, most of which can be accessed by foot. The Beach Leisure Centre is located near the beach fairgrounds. Nuffield Health & Fitness and Pure Gym are in the city centre, just five minutes’ walk from Mealmarket Exchange. There is a David Lloyds health club at Garthdee and you will also find many fitness facilities on campus at Robert Gordon University.
The Aberdeen Sports Village is a 10-minute walk from the property. Regarded as one of the leading sports facilities in the region, the Village hosts a range of top-class sports facilities which are available for students to use throughout the year.
Aberdeen Football Club’s Pittodrie Stadium is situated on King Street, just a short walk from the property.
