The app gives you access to uChat, our brand-new messaging service. Something broken? Log a maintenance request through the app and get updates on progress. With the app, you’re also able to report a noise issue, get help when locked out, access laundry services and more!

Features available before you move in
There’s plenty you can do with the MyUnite app before you even arrive! Find out more about your room, property and city with the Useful Information feature, and get to know the people you’ll be living with before you move in with the uChat messaging feature.
Connect with your flat mates before you arrive
uChat takes the guesswork out of who you’ll be living with come check-in day by allowing you to connect with your flat mates before you arrive. Simply opt in, choose a chat room (there’ll be one for each of the shared flat tenancies you have with us) and join the conversation.

Log maintenance issues easily
From time to time you might experience a fault with your room or flat, and require the assistance of our Maintenance Team. With the Maintenance Request feature you can quickly submit a request by selecting where the issue is and what type of issue it is, and adding a description and photos of the issue. You’ll receive updates on the status of your request, so you can rest assured that your issue is being sorted.
Get alerts when a parcel is waiting for you
Expecting post? There’s no need to worry about missing your parcel as we’ll take it for you during our opening hours and store it safely until you can come to pick it up*. And with the MyUnite app, you can receive a notification when your post has arrived.
*Please note, we are only able to hold parcels and mail for a week as we have limited space.
Report a noise issue
Got a noise complaint? With the Noise Complaint feature, noise issues can be reported to us quickly and easily. To submit a noise complaint request, all you need to do is select where the noise is coming from (for example, in your flat, the courtyard or the block next door), provide a brief description of the kind of noise it is and let us know if it’s a recurring issue. After submitting a request, your complaint will be sent to our 24-hour Emergency Control Centre, and appropriate actions will be taken as necessary.
Get help when locked out
Losing your key outside of reception opening hours needn’t be a hassle with Unite Students. We have dedicated on-site Service and Safety teams in all our cities, who are on hand to assist you if you find yourself locked out outside of reception opening hours. With the app’s Locked Out Request feature, all you need to do is select the situation you find yourself in, your location and confirm your mobile number, and your request will be sent to our 24-hour Emergency Control Centre.
Use the laundry services
You can access laundry services in your property through the MyUnite app. In this section, you’ll find a link through to the Your Laundry app which you can use to reserve and pay for washing machines and dryers in our student accommodation. You’ll also find handy washing and drying guides to help you get started if it’s your first time operating the machines.
MyUnite app FAQs
How do I login to the MyUnite app?
If you booked your room on our website or over the phone you will have provided an email address and set up a password. Use those same credentials to login to the app.
If you booked your room through your university you will be able to set up a password within the app by following the link called “Need a new password?”. Follow those steps to create a new password. The email address should be the one you provided at check-in or the one allocated to you by your university.
If you have any problems please contact your Reception or MobileAppSupport@unitestudents.com who should be able to help you with your login information.
How do I reset my password?
You can get a new password by following the link on the login screen of the MyUnite app.
Will the app work on my phone, tablet or other device?
The MyUnite app supports Apple iOS devices with iOS version 8 onwards and Android devices with JellyBean or later installed.
How do I login to the Unite Students Laundry app?
The Unite Students Laundry app uses a separate login to MyUnite. You can register a new login when you first launch the app. There’s a link in the MyUnite app that will take you straight to the Unite Students Laundry app in the store for your phone.
Why can’t I see all of the features referenced above?
In order to use all the features of the MyUnite app you need to be checked in to your room. Before that, you will still be able to access uChat* and Useful Information features.
If you are checked in but are still not seeing all the features the team on reception at your property will be able to amend this for you.
*uChat is only available for customers living in a shared flat.
I have access to more than one chatroom. Which one should I use?
Each tenancy booking you have with us will appear as a separate chat room. You can access the chat window of any chat room you have access to. Take a look at a chat room’s friends list to find out who else has opted into that chat.
I want to report someone’s behaviour in uChat. How do I do this?
All users have the option to report a chat room. To do this, simply navigate to the chat room selection screen and tap report a problem. You will then be asked to fill in a form, outlining the issue. This will be reviewed by our Moderation Team and actions will be taken as appropriate.
How do I raise a maintenance request?
Once you're logged into the MyUnite app click on the maintenance icon. From there you can let us know where the problem is and what has gone wrong. You can add some pictures too if that helps describe the issue. We'll keep you updated with progress on the issue.

When do I receive parcel notifications?
The MyUnite app will inform you if reception is holding a parcel for you. Any post that fits into your personal mail box is not logged via the app and you won't receive notifications for that – just check your mail box as normal!
How do I receive notifications from the MyUnite app?
When you first use the MyUnite app it is set to send you notifications. Sometimes there can be a delay of up to 30 minutes for a notification to come through if our systems are particularly busy.
If you aren't receiving notifications you will need to check your phone settings. If you are still experiencing difficulties please contact MobileAppSupport@unitestudents.com.
What do you do with my data?
Any data you enter into the MyUnite app is only used to log you in and to take care of the maintenance issues you’ve raised. The data is used within our systems but we don't use the data you provide via the app for any other purpose.
We do track usage of the app both anonymously for trends and user logins to ensure our students are getting the most out of the app and to inform future developments.
