How is Unite Students supporting students through the Covid-19 pandemic?
We want to reassure you that the health and wellbeing of students, our staff and the wider community remains our primary concern at this time.
We are working harder than ever to ensure we are keeping students living with us safe and secure. Our teams are dealing with a range of exceptional events as students move into their home, many for the first time. We have put additional resources and support in place, including extra security to ensure our properties remain safe for everyone.
We are working closely with universities, local councils and public health bodies to ensure we are doing everything possible to keep students safe. Our focus is on communicating regularly with students to ensure they know how they can get support, whether it’s food deliveries if they are self-isolating, or if they feel like they may need some additional welfare support.
The following measures are available to students:
- Food and medicine deliveries: Our teams will work with students to facilitate delivery of supermarket orders and medicines if they’re self-isolating
- Welfare Leads: Our dedicated Welfare Leads will remain in regular contact while students are in quarantine or self-isolation. Students are invited to talk openly about their wellbeing with other students through our partnership with Nightline
- MyUnite app: Students can remotely log maintenance requests with our teams without having to leave their rooms
- 24/7 support: Students can access support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our Emergency Contact Centre

We encourage any student who is struggling in any way, or who is concerned about a friend, to contact us or reach out for support from their university. All universities have excellent, professional support services for wellbeing, mental health and finance. Students can also find help on the Student Space website, Nightline and the NHS.
