The Old Fire Station is just minutes from the city centre where you'll find shopping, entertainment, nightlife and restaurants. It's also just a 10 minute walk away from the beach fairground and cinema complex – plus there are convenient local shops and takeaways right on your doorstep. You’ll find a Morrisons and Aberdeen College just across the road and a bus stop right outside which provides great access to the universities.

Facilities at The Old Fire Station

Reception
Our friendly reception will be open 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday.
Common Room
The Old Fire Station has a big, bright common room with widescreen TV’s, pool table, table football, projectors, sofas for chilling out and a study area.
Laundry Facilities
The laundry room is located by reception. Machines are operated with the Unite Students Laundry app.
Outside Space
We have a small outside space with a picnic table.
Parking
Parking is available at The Old Fire Station. You can book a space with the team at reception at the time of booking or after you arrive and parking is paid for each term at £10 per week. Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis.
Bike Storage
Bike storage is available at The Old Fire Station – if you are planning on bringing your bike then please remember to bring your own bike lock.
Recycling
General waste, mixed waste and food waste recycling are all disposed of at The Old Fire Station.
Fire Test Day
Fire alarms are fitted throughout the property. Your fire alarm test day is Monday at 11am. Your fire assembly point is located next to the bin area across the car park. 
Key Type
You will be met at reception where you will receive your key card on arrival, which you can use to access your room and communal areas.
Emergencies
Our Emergency Contact Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 0300 303 1611 for assistance.
 

Important information for check-in day at The Old Fire Station

Where do I collect my key?

You will need to go to Reception to check-in. Once you have checked in you will receive your key in the form of a key card.

Where can I park and unload my car?

Parking is located on site as a drop off service on check-in day with a maximum stay of 15 to 20 minutes. As parking is limited, customers are asked to unload and then move their car to the 3 hour maximum stay Morrisons car park just a few minutes walk away.

When can I move in?

You can move in at any point between the start of your tenancy and up to four weeks later. Got an Android or iOS phone? Tell us when you plan to arrive in the free MyUnite app.
Download the app, select Check-in day from the main menu, and choose your preferred date and time. Not sure when your tenancy starts? Your start date is displayed in the app as you go through this process.
Need to change your arrival date or time? Just go back to the app and edit your choices. And don't worry if you get delayed on moving day, we’ll get you settled whenever you arrive.
