A city where students can thrive...

Exeter's thriving economy has made it one of the top 10 best locations for businesses in the country, which means you’ll have a greater selection of shops, bars and other handy hangouts to choose from. Big business also means big employment, and Exeter’s impressive growth offers some fantastic work opportunities for students.

4 reasons why our students love Exeter

The Exeter Phoenix

The Exeter Phoenix

A hub of culture – this venue encompasses a range of art installations, theatre, film and in summer it does outside screenings in the beautiful surrounding Northernhay Gardens, which is also the setting for the annual South West Food and Drink Festival.
Waterfront area

The waterfront

The waterfront area is covered with bars and restaurants – the perfect place to soak up the sunshine by the water’s edge. The Waterfront bar serves massive pizzas the size of dustbin lids – definitely worth a try.
Live music at Cavern club

The Cavern Club

Set in a basement, the Cavern Club is a great place for seeing live music and bands. Don't miss their indie disco every Saturday night.
The Bike Shed theatre

The Bike Shed Theatre

A great place to see some new and interesting shows – lots of the work is commissioned locally as well as showing some touring plays. They also have a quirky bar that serves a range of cocktails and often has live music and DJs playing.
