If you’ve got a sweet tooth, visit Retro's sweets emporium on Mutley plain, where over 2000 lines of sugary deliciousness are stocked. With sweets and branded chocolate imported from all over the world, Retro's has it all when it comes to sweets.

Adventure Segway

Just a ten minute ferry ride to Torpoint, Adventure Segway is a great all weather activity to explore the beautiful Mount Edgcumbe park on two wheels. There’s a number of different expeditions including a coastal path tour and woodland safari, with the beautiful backdrop of Mount Edgcumbe House.

Escape the stresses of student life at this beautiful Grade I listed house and gardens. Hop off at Cremyll Ferry and take the coastal path to the top of the hill where you’ll see stunning views across the coastline and the city. A great place to take a break from studying and revision.

This hidden gem of the city is home to some of Plymouth’s best restaurants, bars and cafés. A great place to relax on a summer's day and an alternative night out away from the standard student nights if you’re looking for something a bit different.

Smeaton’s Tower

Located on Hoe park, a great spot to relax and enjoy the views, Smeaton’s Tower is the most famous landmark of the city. Climb the 93 steps to the top for amazing views of the Devon coastline and across to Cornwall.

The Dome

The Dome
Probably one of the best spots in the city to take in the breath-taking views of the South West. Visit in the day for classic Devon tea and scones or go in the evenings for a glass of Prosecco or a cocktail in the popular bar.

Sutton Harbour

It wouldn’t be a visit to Britain’s Ocean City without a trip to the famous waterfront at Sutton Harbour. The cobbled streets with their restaurants, shops and bars are the best place to soak up the atmosphere of the city; and enjoy an ice-cream on a summer's day.

A mainstay of the Barbican, Cap’n Jaspers is famous for its legendary hot dogs and giant burgers. It’s a great place for a bite to eat where you can overlook boats coming and going from the harbour. Looking for a tasty burger? We recommend the giant Jasperiser.

Plymouth Pavilions

Fancy yourself as a figure skater? Head to Plymouth Pavilions to visit the ice rink that’s open all year round; meaning you can get some practice in and be a pro by the time Winter arrives. The Pavilions also play host to some of the biggest names in music and comedy in the 4000 capacity arena.

Plymouth SU

Unsurprisingly, this is one of the student hot spots for nights out and sports events. Located right in the centre of town, Plymouth University SU is a bustling bar throughout the year, playing host to a number of a fresher’s nights and the best place to be for live sport.

Beggars Banquet

This lively Caribbean themed bar serves the best local and organic food, freshly made pizzas and hosts a 2-4-1 cocktails night every week. With student friendly prices and a great selection of cocktails, it’s one of the best bars in the city and definitely somewhere to visit for an alternative night out.
