Make yourself at home

Crown House is located directly between the White Knights Campus and Reading city centre, enabling students to make the most of being close to all amenities and, of course, Reading's nightlife, while not being too far away from the university. It is also only five minutes away from the London Road Campus for students’ convenience.
Here you'll find plenty of information on what you'll find in your new home and the surrounding area, as well as important information on check-in day, specific to your property.

Facilities at Crown House

Our friendly reception will be open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
Common Room
The common room includes a TV, sofa, books, table tennis, foosball and a pool table.
Laundry Facilities
The laundry room is located on the first floor. Machines are operated through the MyUnite app or Circuit Laundry card.
15 spaces available in the underground gated car park. These are charged at £20 per week on a yearly (43 weeks) or £25 per week on a termly basis.
Bike Storage
Bike storage is available at Crown House – if you are planning on bringing your bike then please remember to bring your own bike lock.
Recycling facilities are available at Crown House. Please take care not to contaminate with different types of refuse.
Fire Test Day
Fire alarms are fitted throughout the property. Your fire alarm test day is Wednesday at 2pm. Your fire assembly point is located outside Tesco Express (round the corner from the property).
Key Type
You will receive a key card on arrival at the property, which you can use to access your room and communal areas.
Our Emergency Contact Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 0300 303 1611 for assistance.

Where do I collect my key?

You will need to go to Reception to check-in. Once you have checked in you will receive your key in the form of a key card.

Where can I park and unload my car?

Parking will be available at Crown House in the underground car park. This will be free with a time limit of 2 hours. Parking is also available on Kendrick Road (pay and display or free after 6pm) or the Oracle shopping centre car park which is a 5 minute walk from Crown House.

When can I move in?

You can check in at any point from the start date of your tenancy. You can find your tenancy start date in your tenancy agreement or by logging into MyAccount here.
If you are going to be arriving much later than the start of your tenancy, just let us know and we will arrange for someone to be there to greet you and make sure you get the keys to your new home. If you are planning to move in outside of our reception opening hours, please contact our emergency contact centre on 0300 303 1611.
