What can you look forward to in Bournemouth?
The town’s student community is almost 17,000-strong, so you’ll find plenty of like-minded people to study and socialise with.
Many great minds have drawn inspiration from the beautiful surroundings and intoxicating sea air that Bournemouth offers, with JRR Tolkien and Enid Blyton having made their homes in this spirited town. How will you use your inspiration when you stay in our Bournemouth student accommodation?
The beach and surrounding waters are easy to get to from our student flats and are a great place to get involved in sports and activities, such as wind surfing, water skiing and jet skiing. On the sand, beach volleyball and football games are common. AFC Bournemouth get plenty of local support but tickets are still readily available if you want to go and watch. Just 25 miles up the coast you will find the London 2012 Olympic venue where the windsurfing and sailing took place in Weymouth.
Bournemouth students enjoy the vibrant local club scene, and there are a number of venues such as the Bournemouth International Centre which play host to music and comedy tours. Popular nightspots include Le Chic - a great way of meeting new people. The Safe Bus Bournemouth offers a reliable service from 9:00pm to 3:00am every Friday and Saturday to get you home safely after a night on the town.
You’ll never be short of places to eat when you stay in our student accommodation in Bournemouth. From Italian eateries like Zizzi, Pizza Express and Prezzo to outstanding Asian fare served in venues like Little India, there’s a whole smorgasbord of treats waiting to be tasted. No trip to the beach would be complete without a round of fish and chips, and for this British classic Chez Fred is hard to beat.
On the seafront, there is the traditional British pier, as well as an Oceanarium and a funfair. The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum has a vast collection of artefacts and paintings and also has stunning sea views. In the town centre, just a short distance from our student accommodation you’ll also find two cinemas where you can catch all the latest blockbusters.
