New Medlock House is 10-15 minutes’ walk from Manchester city centre. Situated on Chester Street, just off Oxford Road, you are just minutes away from both Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Manchester campuses. With such a great city centre location, you’re close to all the fantastic bars, clubs, theatres and restaurants that Manchester has to offer. Plus, you’re just a few minutes from both the Students’ Unions. Oxford Road train station and a Metrolink station are only a five-minute walk from the property.

Facilities at New Medlock House

Our friendly reception will be open 8am - 8pm Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm Saturday.
Common Room
The common room features TV, Internet, pool table, table football, ps4, sofa area, tea / coffee station, study zone, vending machines and free printing.
Laundry Facilities
Laundry facilities are available at New Medlock House. Machines are operated through the MyUnite app. 
Outside Space
There is a decked area with benches.
There is no parking available at New Medlock House.
Bike Storage
Bike storage is available at New Medlock House – if you are planning on bringing your bike then please remember to bring your own bike lock.
Recycling facilities are available at New Medlock House. 
Fire Test Day
Fire alarms are fitted throughout the property. Your fire alarm test day is Tuesday between 11am - 11.30am. Your fire assembly point is located on Chester Street.
Key Type
You will receive a key and key fob on arrival at the property, which you can use to access your room and communal areas.
Our Emergency Contact Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 0300 303 1611 for assistance.

Where do I collect my key?

You will need to go to Reception to check-in. Once you have checked in you will receive your key in the form of a key and key fob.

Where can I park and unload my car?

Street car parking will be available for up to 1 hour on check in day. Parking is also available at the NCP car park opposite (£5.50 for up to 2 hours or £18.00 for up to 24 hours).

When can I move in?

You can move in at any point between the start of your tenancy and up to four weeks later. Got an Android or iOS phone? Tell us when you plan to arrive in the free MyUnite app.
Download the app, select Check-in day from the main menu, and choose your preferred date and time. Not sure when your tenancy starts? Your start date is displayed in the app as you go through this process.
Need to change your arrival date or time? Just go back to the app and edit your choices. And don't worry if you get delayed on moving day, we’ll get you settled whenever you arrive.
