Transport

There's plenty of affordable ways to get around Manchester using public transport. Various bus companies operate routes around the city alongside the Metrolink tram service. If you're travelling further afield, Manchester Piccadilly train station makes connecting with cities like London and Newcastle simple. It's easy to travel abroad from Manchester too, with Manchester Airport around 20 minutes away by train.

Aside from facilities on campus, you can expect to find plenty of gyms in and around Manchester, from local to national gyms. If you like watching live sport, then a visit to Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, is an absolute must.

Shopping

Shoppers are spoilt for choice in Manchester, with plenty of independent shops and boutiques as well as national chains. You'll find all the big brand names, including H&M, Apple and Zara, at the Trafford Centre - there's also a Selfridges department store if you fancy treating yourself to some designer labels! There's plenty of choice when it comes to food shopping too, with an ASDA supermarket and convenience stores located in the centre of town.
