Social Scenes
There are a range of shops, pubs and takeaways near to Exeter Trust House. Just down the road on Sidwell Street, there are a number of takeaways and restaurants including Pizza Hut, KFC, Raj India Balti House, Subway and Domino’s. There is also an Odeon cinema just a couple of minutes’ walk from the property.
The Quay is a short taxi ride away from Exeter Trust House, and is one of the most relaxed parts of the Exeter bar scene. The Waterfront is popular with students all year round.
The city centre is home to many bars and nightclubs with weekly student nights at venues such as Visit Arena, The Cavern, Timepiece or Mosaic. There are also many independent coffee shops, plus, chains like Starbucks and Costa, perfect for catching up with friends between lectures.
What
Exeter is home to a range of great live venues, so whether its theatre, comedy or music you’re into, there’s something to suit every taste. The Exeter Phoenix, the city’s arts centre, offers top quality theatre, dance, live music, and exhibitions throughout the year.
The Northcott Theatre is based on Streatham Campus and stages its own productions as well as national tours, comedy nights and concerts.
The Vue Cinema is the main cinema in Exeter, but The Picturehouse is also very popular. Its programme includes art house and classic films, as well as major blockbusters.
Getting Active
The University of Exeter’s Sports Park is located on campus, just off Stocker Road, and is home to some of the South West’s leading sports facilities. The facilities host events from the Athletic Union clubs and societies, plus competitions in the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) and College Sports events.
Exeter Tennis Centre and the Sir Christopher Ondaatje Devon Cricket Centre are also based here, offering indoor playing space that is unrivalled in the region.
The Sports Park is currently benefitting from an £8million development which has already seen the water-based hockey pitch resurfaced, a new 3G rubber crumb MUGA pitch installed and six outdoor tennis courts covered.

Travel and Transport
Exeter Trust House is near to many of the city’s best bars, restaurants and shops. Most of the best student venues are within 10 minutes’ walk of the property. If you do wish to travel by public transport, the ‘D’ service takes you from the Streatham Campus to the city centre and runs regularly.
Local Essentials
Students at Exeter Trust House are well catered for when it comes to local shops. There are a number of supermarkets and convenience stores on nearby Sidwell Road, just a few minutes’ walk from the property.
There are several shopping centres in Exeter including Princesshay, Guild Hall and Harlequins. In addition, the city has undergone significant investment, creating a stunning high street with many national and international brands.
Princesshay has more than 70 shops dedicated to lifestyle, fashion, food & drink and leisure. It also has a Sainsbury’s supermarket for your weekly shopping needs. In addition, the newly constructed John Lewis store boasts 65,000 square feet of shopping space.
Your Wellbeing
Exeter has two main hospitals; Wonford and Heavitree. Wonford Hospital can be accessed via the ‘H’ bus service from the city centre. Heavitree can be accessed via the ‘D’ bus service which stops at the University’s Streatham Campus.
