What date will Sainsbury’s top-up services stop being available?

From the 31st August 2017, Sainsbury’s will be switching off their system with us which means students will no longer be able to access the Sainsbury’s site to allow them to top-up their cards.

When will the cards be deactivated?

Anyone who already owns a Sainsbury’s Everyday Shopping Card will be able to use any funds until already on the card until 31st August 2019 as cards will remain active for 24 months. However, students will not be able to load any new funds onto their card from 31st August 2017.

If a student has credit, will this be refunded?

Sainsbury’s will not refund any remaining credit as the balance on the cards can still be spent in store up until the 24 months.

How are we going to let students with Sainsbury’s cards know?

An email will be going out to current Sainsbury’s card holders letting them know that as of the 31st of August 2017, they won’t be able to top up their Sainsbury’s cards.
