How have you been spending your spare time? If you’ve seen a lot of it eaten up by long lie-ins and slightly too many Netflix documentaries, we’ve got a game-changer for you.

Unite Students’ Isolation Bingo is a chance for you to use your time at home for positive action. Support a friend. Learn a new skill. Help the planet. Have some fun.

So what exactly is Unite Students’ Isolation Bingo, I hear you ask? Let me tell you about it...

What is Unite Students’ Isolation Bingo?

It’s a collaboration between Unite Students and the NUS’ Green Impact scheme which is here to encourage you to make the most of your spare time during these unusual times.

Essentially, it’s a collection of inspiration and ideas to help you and your friends have fun, learn something new and make a difference to the world around you. Once on the website, you’ll be able to access a range of positive tips, ideas and advice. Here are just a few of them:

  • Tips for staying connected and having fun with friends
  • How you can help the planet from the comfort of your own home
  • Get tips on free online courses to learn new skills
  • Find lists of brilliant books and short films you can watch online
  • Small ways you can look after your own wellbeing
  • Discover fantastic opportunities to gain relevant work experience

There’s some great inspiration on there, and it’s perfect if you find yourself with some spare time. Especially if you’re looking for something positive to focus on.

How does it work?

To take part in Unite Students’ Isolation Bingo, you’ll need to register on the NUS’ Green Impact website. There’s a registration button on the right-hand side of the home page. Click this and then fill in all the fields marked with *.

For location/building, you can list the student property that you’re living in or name your university. The registration code is 16377. For the dropdown team list, select ‘new team’ and use your own name for the team name.

Then, simply click on the categories in the menu and discover the ideas, resources and inspiration we’ve pulled together for you. Once you’ve read or completed each section, tick it off and move onto the next.

You could work through a section a day with friends, or just pick and choose the ideas you think you’ll enjoy most. Once you’ve done each one, tick it off and work your way to a full house!

Your Green Impact account will be deleted at the end of the academic year, along with all the associated data.
