Rules

We ask you to be friendly and polite to one another and respect each other’s views even if they oppose your own. In short, our community guidelines are:

  • No spam
  • No bullying
  • No discriminatory behaviour / comments
  • No libellous comments

These rules will cover the following:

Contributions should be civil. We won’t tolerate disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour, unlawful or objectionable content. This includes any material which might be defamatory, offensive, infringing, obscene, lewd, pornographic, violent, abusive, insulting, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, blasphemous, indecent or otherwise unlawful or objectionable. It also includes any material which is aggressive, argumentative or likely to be construed as bullying. No spam links please.

We value our residents’ safety and wellbeing therefore we take these guidelines very seriously. We ask you to follow them closely as failure to do so could have a detrimental impact on your own stay with us as well as others.

Moderation

We have a duty to protect our residents so while deleting comments is out of character for us, our position is that any messages that are in breach of our community guidelines will be removed. If an individual continues to post offensive, threatening or libellous content then we’ll be forced to ban an individual from their respective chat room. We won’t tolerate messages or links that are racist, sexist or homophobic. We also don’t permit linking to or posting any content which endorses illegal activity, or any activities against the values of Unite Students.
