Studio accommodation can be ideal for students who prefer independent living. Your flat is your own space to eat, sleep and study. Still, living alone at uni can feel a little isolating at times. Studio student accommodation is like having your own private flat. You get your own kitchen, bathroom and living/study space, as well as a bed and storage. In an en-suite room, you get a bed, private bathroom and a place to study, but you’ll be sharing a kitchen and living space with flatmates.
Studio accommodation is often a little more expensive than en-suite or non-ensuite accommodation. This is because you get your own private living space and kitchen area, so you don’t have to share with flatmates. Bear in mind that prices will also differ depending on your location.
In total, a student studio is often two rooms – one for your combined living and dining space (which includes your bed), and then your private bathroom. Don’t forget, you can get creative with extra furnishings – like using shelving or a divider to separate your bed from the rest of the space. In your own private student studio flat, it’s up to you!
