Whether you need help settling into student life, managing stress, or if something's affecting your mental or physical health, the Student Wellbeing Helpline is available 24/7 - 365 days a year.
On‑Demand Care
Professional counsellors and advisors are on hand to offer guidance and the support is available in over 200 languages (via Language Line).

Support is flexible and easy to access, so you can get help in a way that works for you - download the Health Hero app, access services on your laptop, or call 0800 0321 029 for immediate support.
Only the information you choose to give your student welfare team - and only if you’re happy for it to be shared. You can also speak directly to HealthHero if you prefer.
Your referral is sent directly to HealthHero. A trained advisor or counsellor will contact you within the agreed timeframe to discuss your situation and guide you through available support options.
Your data is used solely to provide SAP services and is kept confidential within secure systems. HealthHero's privacy notice explains this in detail. Your student welfare team will have their own privacy notices too.
Only whether:
Support has been put in place
Support was declined or not suitable
HealthHero was unable to reach you
No personal details or conversation notes are shared.
Confidentiality is protected unless there is:
Risk of harm to yourself or others
Safeguarding concerns involving children or vulnerable adults
Serious risk on‑site, or a situation where public interest overrides confidentiality
In these cases, only essential information is shared with appropriate services.
No. HealthHero won’t contact you without your consent. You can choose to call them directly instead. If you change your mind after consenting, just contact HealthHero or your welfare team to stop the referral.
