Just a 10 minute walk from James Baillie Park you will find Headingley, an extremely popular student area with an array of shops, cafes bars, and a cinema. The area is also home to many restuarants offering massive choice which includes Italian, Indian, Mexican, Thai, and takeaway outlets.
Leeds University is only 20 minutes’ walk away, or a short bus ride towards the city centre. Leeds Metropolitan University’s city centre campus is a little further, and the Headingley campus is a short bus ride away.
All the city centre venues of Leeds are within walking distance of James Baillie Park, or you can use the bus stops on Headingley Lane to catch one of the regular buses.
The new Leeds Arena venue is only a short bus ride from the property, which hosts many of the country’s leading music and comedy acts.

Situated in an attracted conservation area, James Baillie Park is an unusual student property that benefits from both a great location for city centre access as well as beautiful surroundings. Behind the property, there is a nature reserve with woodland walks down into the city centre.
A short bus ride will take you to Golden Acre Park with lakes walks and a café. You can venture into Otley, a riverside town worth a visit with a good selection of shops, pubs and eateries.
Head for the city centre to see the museums and galleries as well as the Victorian arcades.

As a city with two universities, Leeds has a range of leading sports facilities available for students. One such venue is The Edge, a purpose built top class sports facility on campus at the University of Leeds.
On campus, you’ll find leading sports facilities for rugby, football, hockey, tennis and badminton amongst many others. These venues are generally available for students to use throughout the year, meaning you can always pop down for a quick game with your friends.
James Baillie Park is close to Headingley Carnegie Stadium, home to both the Rugby League World Club Challenge winners Leeds Rhinos, and the Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union Club.
Whilst living in Leeds, it’s worth taking a trip to Elland Road Stadium to see Leeds United Football Club. The ground is just a short bus ride away.

With a great location close to the city centre, James Baillie students are coveniently located to make the most of student life in the city of Leeds but with the added benefit of being able to escape the city centre when they need to relax and study.
From Headingley Lane, regular bus services can take you all around the city. The number 96 runs in and out of the city centre frequently.
The property also has car parking spaces available should you wish to bring your own car.
Leeds train station and the Leeds Bradford International Airport offer easy access to the rest of the UK and can be accessed via bus or taxi from James Baillie Park.
Local Essentials
Just 10 minutes’ walk down the road from James Baillie Park is a Sainsbury’s supermarket, as well as a range of smaller food shops and takeaways. Just a short taxi journey away is a large Morrison’s supermarket.
The town centre, just a 15-minute bus ride, is home to all the high street banks and shops that you’d expect in a popular university city.
The university shuttle bus runs from right outside the University of Leeds library and up Headingley Lane.
