Leadmill Point is a 10-minute walk from Division Street and West Street where many great bars and restaurants are found. Fargate, one of the busiest shopping streets in Sheffield, is less than a five-minute walk away. Alternatively, catch the tram to Meadowhall Shopping Centre for all the shops you could ever need.
The property is in a great position to make the most of Sheffield’s famous student nightlife. Whether you prefer the Students’ Union, the city’s many nightclubs, or simply a chilled-out drink at a local pub like The Frog and Parrot, there’ll be plenty of options close to your accommodation at Leadmill Point.
Other local venues that are particularly popular with our students include The Leadmill nightclub and the O2 academy, both of which are less than five minutes’ walk from the property.
What
The Odeon cinema and Showroom cinema are just a five-minute walk away, and both the Motorpoint Arena and Valley Centertainment complex are 15 minutes away on the tram. Valley Centertainment boasts a large Cineworld, bowling alley and a variety of restaurants and fast food franchises.
Sheffield has the largest theatre complex in the UK outside London, and both the Lyceum and the famous Crucible Theatre are only a five-minute walk from Leadmill Point. The Millennium Galleries, Peace Gardens, and Winter Gardens are also only a two-minute walk away; the perfect locations for a break between lectures.
Sheffield has eight major parks and over 80 smaller parks and gardens so there is always somewhere to spend warm and sunny days. Norfolk Park and Devonshire Green are both a short walk away, and the various bus routes around the city centre can get you to Endcliffe Park or Hillsborough Park in less than 15 minutes.
A city with great musical heritage, Sheffield is host to the Tramlines festival – a free music festival held in June in the Devonshire Quarter of the city centre. Sheffield also plays host to Doc Festival – a documentary festival held at the Showroom cinema.
