St Vincent’s Place is within walking distance of Sheffield’s many diverse bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The property is in the perfect location for those who want to be close to the centre of town but live in a slightly quieter area of the city.
 
St Vincent’s Place is less than a 10 minute walk to the great nightlife found in popular student areas Division Street and West Street.
 
The city centre is home to all the high street shops you would expect in a busy university city, and this is a 10 minute walk from the property. The picturesque Peace Gardens, located right next to the town hall, are host to many vintage fairs throughout the year.
 
There are also many popular independent local bars nearby. The Kelham Island quarter is close to the property and is particularly popular throughout Sheffield’s three-day summer music festival, Tramlines.
What
The award-winning Peace Gardens are a 15 minute walk from The University of Sheffield’s campus. The large fountains and seating area make it a great place to unwind between lectures.
 
St Vincent’s Place is only a short bus ride away from many of Sheffield’s large parks.  Endcliffe Park is in the popular S11 area and is well worth a visit as part of a relaxing weekend. The area is very close to Ecclesall Road, which is very popular with students due to the high number of fashionable shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes.
 
St Vincent’s Place has great transport links to all the city’s great attractions, including the Western Park Museum and Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens, both of which are only a mile away from the city centre.
Getting Active
The University of Sheffield has a range of facilities that students can make use of.
 
Football fans will always have an opportunity to watch a match, with Sheffield Wednesday football club only a couple of miles down the road in Hillsborough.  Rivals Sheffield United are based across town on Bramall Lane. The city is also home to one of the world’s oldest recognised football teams, Sheffield F.C.
 
The Crucible Theatre is home to the World Snooker Championship every year, and attracts film crews and celebrities during this busy time. The event is hugely popular with students looking to watch a match or just see the BBC presenters filming in the Winter Gardens close by.
 
Great sporting facilities are never far away in Sheffield and Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is only a 15-minute walk from St Vincent’s Place. Ponds Forge has a huge leisure pool, a separate 50m swimming pool with diving pit, gym and fitness classes available.

Travel and Transport
With Sheffield’s great transport links, you will never have to miss an opportunity to visit Sheffield’s great shopping areas. A short walk into town will bring you to Sheffield High Street, which has all the popular shops and cafes you would expect in a vibrant student city, including Topshop, New Look, H&M, Starbucks and many banks and phone shops.
 
Away from the city centre is the largest shopping centre in Yorkshire, and one of the largest in England, Meadowhall. Meadowhall has over 280 shops and is only a 20-minute tram ride away from the Netherthorpe Road tram stop, which is just a short walk from the property.
Local Essentials
You will find a range of food shops on West Street, which is an 8 minute walk from the property. There are also other smaller food shops nearby (a Tesco Express is a 2 minute walk from the property).
In the city centre of Sheffield, you will find many different branches of banks, and the library too. This is all roughly a 10 minute walk from St Vincent’s Place.
 
Your Wellbeing
The University Health Service is less than half a mile away and is a modern, friendly practice, situated on the corner of Gell Street and Glossop Road. The Practice at Gell Street has disabled access plus a lift to the upper floor.
 
They is an NHS, PMS General Practice (9 Doctors working in partnership), which offers full GP services to all students at the University of Sheffield if they choose to register, and their dependents.
 
There is also an NHS Walk-In centre on Broad Lane, which is only a five minute walk away.
 
The Royal Hallamshire Hospital is only 1 mile away if needed, and can be easily reached by foot, road or tram.
