Sugarhouse Close is a listed building located in the historic city centre of Edinburgh. The main University of Edinburgh campus is a 15 minute walk away and the Holyrood Campus is right next door. Napier University, Queen Margaret University and Heriot-Watt University are also all within easy travelling distance by bus or train. Everything you need is close by, with The Royal Mile and Princes Street just a short walk away. Plus, you can walk to the city’s best attractions including Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh Castle within 10 minutes.

Facilities at Sugarhouse Close

Reception
Our friendly reception will be open 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 1:30pm - 5pm on Saturday.
Common Room
Sugarhouse Close has a common room which includes table tennis, pool, Wii, TV, iPod Dock, free printing and book lending facilities.
Laundry Facilities
The laundry room is located on the lower ground floor of the Kilns building. Machines are operated through the MyUnite app.
Outside Space
There are two courtyards with seating, one of which has views of Arthur's Seat.
Parking
Onsite parking is not available at Sugarhouse Close. Parking is available through an agreement with St. John's Hill NCP (across the road) at a reduced rate.
Bike Storage
Bike storage is available at Sugarhouse Close – if you are planning on bringing your bike then please remember to bring your own bike lock.
Recycling
Recycling facilities are available at Sugarhouse Close. Please take care not to contaminate with different types of refuse. We also have British Heart Foundation charity donation points for unwanted but usable items such as clothes, food banks and a donation library.
Fire Test Day
Fire alarms are fitted throughout the property. Your fire alarm test day is Monday at 2pm. Your fire assembly point is located by Slater's Steps.
Key Type
You will receive a key card on arrival at the property, which you can use to access your room and communal areas.
Emergencies
Our Emergency Contact Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 0300 303 1611 for assistance.

Important information for check-in day at Sugarhouse Close

Where do I collect my key?

You will need to go to Reception to check-in. Once you have checked in you will receive your key in the form of a key card.

Where can I park and unload my car?

Parking is located outside Reception as a 5 minute drop off service. There is no permanent parking onsite. As parking is limited, customers are asked to unload and then move their car to NCP Car Park, St John's Hill, EH8 9UL.

When can I move into Sugarhouse Close?

You can move in at any point between the start of your tenancy and up to four weeks later. Got an Android or iOS phone? Tell us when you plan to arrive in the free MyUnite app.
Download the app, select Check-in day from the main menu, and choose your preferred date and time. Not sure when your tenancy starts? Your start date is displayed in the app as you go through this process.
Need to change your arrival date or time? Just go back to the app and edit your choices. And don't worry if you get delayed on moving day, we’ll get you settled whenever you arrive.
