The Old Printworks is in an ideal location amidst the popular student hub of Edinburgh. It’s a short walk to the University of Edinburgh campus and close to all major bus routes. The Old Printworks benefits from being close to the stunning Arthur’s seat and historic Royal Mile, right in the heart of Edinburgh city centre.

Facilities at The Old Printworks

Our friendly reception is open between 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday.
Common Room
The Old Printworks has a common room with a TV and seating area.
There is a gym with 4 cardio machines and a free weights area.
Laundry Facilities
The laundry room is located in Block A opposite the ground floor Lobby. Machines are operated through the MyUnite app.
Outside Space
There are two courtyards to the rear of the property with plants and bench seating.
There is no on-site parking available. The closest car park is on Parkside Street, off St Leonards Street.
Bike Storage
Bike storage is available at The Old Printworks – if you are planning on bringing your bike then please remember to bring your own bike lock.
There are general waste, mixed recycling and glass recycling facilities. We also have British Heart Foundation charity donation points as well as food banks, food waste and small electrical recycling.
Fire Test Day
Fire alarms are fitted throughout the property. Your fire alarm test day and time is Monday between 2:30pm and 3pm.
Key Type
You will receive a key card on arrival at the property, which you can use to access your room and communal areas.
Our Emergency Contact Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 0300 303 1611 for assistance.

Important information for check-in day at The Old Printworks

Where do I collect my key?

You will need to go to Reception to check-in. Once you have checked in you will receive your key in the form of a key fob.

Where can I park and unload my car?

There is no parking onsite however if there is space near the building you can pull up for 5 minutes to drop off belongings however please check with a member of the onsite team first. To allow the other people in the building to drop their belongings off, customers are asked to unload and then move their car to Parkside Street.

When can I move in?

You can move in at any point between the start of your tenancy and up to four weeks later. Got an Android or iOS phone? Tell us when you plan to arrive in the free MyUnite app.
Download the app, select Check-in day from the main menu, and choose your preferred date and time. Not sure when your tenancy starts? Your start date is displayed in the app as you go through this process.
Need to change your arrival date or time? Just go back to the app and edit your choices. And don't worry if you get delayed on moving day, we’ll get you settled whenever you arrive.
