Make yourself at home

Grand Central is in the heart of the city centre meaning it is very close to the Lime Street and Central train stations. You will never need to take a taxi! Being in such a central location means you have access to a large variety of shops (including Tesco and Sainsbury’s) and restaurants.
Here you'll find everything you need to know about your new home and the surrounding area, as well as important information on check-in day, specific to your property.

Facilities at Grand Central

Our friendly reception will be open 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturday.
Common Room
Grand Central has a common room with lots of comfy sofas, TV with PS4, a pool table, a ping pong table and vending machines. Keep an eye out for events held here throughout the year.
Fully equipped, modern gym with 24 hour access. A small fee is payable for an access pass, the then use of the gym is free.
Laundry Facilities
There are two laundry rooms at Grand Central. One is located by reception and one in Block DEF. Machines are operated through the MyUnite app.
Outside Space
Grand Central has a brilliant garden area on the ground floor, with astro turf and benches for people to relax outside on. Look out for BBQ events being held!
There is no parking available at Grand Central. Please speak to the reception team for any local parking facilities or your University for on campus parking.
Bike Storage
Bike storage is available at Grand Central – if you are planning on bringing your bike then please remember to bring your own bike lock.
There are separate recycling and bottle bins.
Fire Test Day
Fire alarms are fitted throughout the property. Your fire alarm test day is Monday between 1pm - 1.30pm. Your fire assembly point is located on the opposite side of the road to the site adjacent to Lime Street Station.
Key Type
You will receive a key fob on arrival at the property, which you can use to access your room and communal areas.
Our Emergency Contact Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 0300 303 1611 for assistance.

Important information for check-in day at Grand Central

Where do I collect my key?

You will need to go to Reception to check-in. Once you have checked in you will receive your key in the form of a key fob.

Where can I park and unload my car?

Parking is located at the Mount Pleasant Car Park. St Johns Carpark and the Adelphi Hotel carparks are all approximately 3 minutes from the property.

When can I move into Grand Central?

You can move in at any point between the start of your tenancy and up to four weeks later. Got an Android or iOS phone? Tell us when you plan to arrive in the free MyUnite app.
Download the app, select Check-in day from the main menu, and choose your preferred date and time. Not sure when your tenancy starts? Your start date is displayed in the app as you go through this process.
Need to change your arrival date or time? Just go back to the app and edit your choices. And don't worry if you get delayed on moving day, we’ll get you settled whenever you arrive.
