There's plenty of affordable ways to get around Loughborough using public transport. Various bus companies operate routes around the city and, if you're travelling further afield, Loughborough train station makes connecting with cities like London and Nottingham simple. It's easy to travel abroad from Loughborough too, with Birmingham airport around an hour away.

There are leading sports facilities spread across the university campus, including an international-standard 400m track and stadium. If you like watching live sport, then a visit to nearby Leicester to see the Leicester Tigers rugby team in action is an absolute must.

Loughborough is a great city for shopping, with plenty of independent shops as well as national chains in the centre, alongside the Rushes and Carillon Court shopping centres. There's plenty of choice when it comes to food shopping too, with a Sainsbury's supermarket and convenience stores located in the centre of town.
