Broadcasting Tower is just a few minutes’ walk from the Students’ Union. Located in the heart of Leeds, residents at Broadcasting Tower are just a few minutes’ walk away from some of the city’s most popular restaurants, bars and clubs.
Leeds boasts over 1,000 shops in a unique mix of stylish pedestrianised high streets, state-of-the-art shopping centres, Victorian arcades, historic buildings and yards, and Edwardian markets. Leeds city centre alone has upwards of 90 restaurants and cafés, 26 major hotels, four renowned theatres, 29 nightclubs, and over 180 bars.
The 13,500 capacity Leeds Arena is located across the road from the property. The venue will host some of the biggest names in music, comedy and theatre and students staying at Broadcasting Tower are lucky enough to have this fantastic new venue right on their doorstep.
The property is just five minutes’ walk from Leeds Metropolitan University and University of Leeds campus, meaning whatever you’re studying you’ll always be close to your department. Also, you’ll have great access to the many music and entertainment stars who visit the Student’s Union every year.
If you’re looking to relax after lectures or at the weekend, take a short bus ride to Roundhay Park in Leeds, which is one of the biggest city parks in Europe. It has over 700 acres of parkland, lakes, woodland and gardens. Here you can enjoy a spot of sunbathing in the summer, or sledging on the famous Hill 60 in the winter. 
Getting Active
At both universities, you’ll find leading sports facilities for rugby, football, hockey, tennis and badminton amongst many others. These venues are generally available for students to use throughout the year, meaning you can always pop down for a quick game with your friends.
For fans of professional sports, the close proximity to Leeds United’s Elland Road football stadium means you can see the team play just a short bus ride away.
Rugby fans are spoilt for choice with both the Rugby League World Club Challenge winners; Leeds Rhinos and the Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union, both based at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. The tickets are great value, and the atmosphere is electric.

Travel and Transport
With such a great location in the heart of the city, Broadcasting Tower students are close to the action, as well as having great transport links on their doorstep.
The property is in the heart of Leeds city centre and are within walking distance from Leeds University campus. Should residents require it; there is a regular bus service - the number 96 - operating every few minutes, which travels to Headingley and other popular student areas.
Leeds train station offers regular services to the rest of the UK and is a fifteen to twenty minute walk from Broadcasting Tower.
Broadcasting Tower is located adjacent to the A58 which connects to the A64 and is also close to the M1. Leeds Bradford airport is under 9 miles away and a regular shuttle bus operates to and from the city centre. This makes Leeds a great starting point for exploring more of the UK and further afield.
Local Essentials
For a wider range of items Morrison’s supermarket is just a few minutes walk across the road. Further major supermarkets, banks , popular high street stores  and a great variety of specialist shops can be found easily within the city centre.
Your Wellbeing
Broadcasting Tower students can walk to Leeds Student Medical Practice in around five minutes. Students have to register with the practice and we advise residents do this within the first week at university.
The universities offer welfare, financial and career advice to all its students and these can be found in various advice clinics across campus. Broadcasting Tower is in close proximity for both university campuses.
Aside from these facilities, Leeds General Infirmary hospital is located just a five-minute walk from Broadcasting Tower should emergency medical assistance be required.
