What does the term Room Agreement mean?

Unite Students owns properties across England, Wales and Scotland and over the last few years each has introduced a different piece of law to govern how renting works.

We have chosen to use the generic term 'Room Agreement' on our website to ensure that everyone is covered and our website is easy to use and understand.

So that you're able to find the law and guidelines for your specific Room Agreement we have clarified the correct legal term for the Room Agreements in the different countries below:

England - Room Booking Agreement

Wales - Occupation Contract

Scotland - Tenancy Agreement

So that everyone is treated fairly, we have kept the key terms of our Room Agreements for these different jurisdictions the same where possible and only made variations to them where required by the different laws in those countries. For full details, see your individual Room Agreement available in My Account after you have booked with us.
