If there’s a fire or you hear the fire alarm, it’s important to act quickly:
Leave immediately - don’t stop to collect your belongings.
Close doors behind you as you leave your flat.
Use the stairs, never the lift.
Call 999 - don’t assume someone else has already called.
Go to your assembly point and stay there until you’re told it’s safe to return.
Fire safety information is also available in your flat, usually on the back of your door. Take a few minutes when you arrive to familiarise yourself with it.
