Why is Unite Students planning on replacing the external facade on some of its buildings?

The external facade is the outside layer of a building, including materials used on the outside walls.

We’re carrying out facade works at some of our buildings following recommendations from our independent annual fire risk assessments. As a responsible landlord, we’re acting on these recommendations to help maintain the safety and quality of our homes.

We want to reassure you that our buildings are safe to occupy. None of our properties use the same external facade system or materials as those used on Grenfell Tower.

The recommendations from our fire risk assessments are not mandatory, but we’re choosing to carry out this work as part of our commitment to keeping residents safe.
